FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Are your herbs loose-leaf?
Yes. Our herbs are packaged loose or in individual tea bags. Depending on the product, your pouch may contain cut leaves, stems, flowers or calyces. You can also use a tea infuser, or fine-mesh strainer when brewing.
2. Are they caffeine-free?
Yes. Hibiscus, Lemongrass and Lady’s Mantle are naturally caffeine-free.
Dragon’s Blood Resin is not tea and must not be consumed. Always check the ingredient list of future blends because green, black and white teas naturally contain caffeine.
3. How much should I use?
Begin with 1 teaspoon of dried herb per 8 ounces of hot water. Cover and steep for 5–10 minutes, then strain thoroughly.
For a stronger cup, increase the steeping time before increasing the amount of herb. Follow the directions on each product because serving recommendations may differ.
4. How many servings are in each pouch?
The number of servings varies because some herbs are lighter and take up more space than others. If using approximately one teaspoon per cup, a standard one-ounce pouch generally provides around 5–10 servings.
Each product listing will provide a more specific estimate. Actual servings depend on the herb’s density and how strongly you prepare each cup.
5. Can I combine herbs?
Yes, certain edible herbs can be combined for flavor and personal enjoyment. Begin with small amounts and review the warnings for every ingredient before creating a blend.
Do not combine several unfamiliar herbs at once. Consult a healthcare professional before mixing herbs if you take medication, manage a health condition, are preparing for surgery, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Never add Dragon’s Blood Resin to tea.
6. Can I consume Dragon’s Blood Resin?
No. Kumbatia Dragon’s Blood Resin is sold exclusively as aromatic incense.
Do not eat it, brew it as tea, add it to an herbal blend or apply it to the skin. Burn only a small amount in a heat-resistant incense burner with adequate ventilation.
7. Are the products safe during pregnancy?
We cannot guarantee that every herb is safe during pregnancy. Pregnancy safety differs by plant, serving size, preparation and individual health history.
Lady’s Mantle is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding because adequate safety information is unavailable. Anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, attempting to conceive or receiving fertility treatment should consult a qualified healthcare professional before using any herbal product.
8. Can herbs interact with medications?
Yes. Herbs can interact with prescription medications, over-the-counter products, vitamins and supplements. Some may affect blood pressure, blood sugar, bleeding, fluid balance, sedation or medication absorption.
Consult a physician or pharmacist before using herbs if you take medication or manage a medical condition. Never stop or replace prescribed medication with an herbal product.
9. How should the products be stored?
Store herbs in their original, tightly sealed pouch in a cool, dry and dark location. Keep them away from heat, sunlight, humidity, steam and strong odors.
Always use a clean, dry utensil. Keep all products away from children and pets. Store Dragon’s Blood Resin away from heat, flames and ignition sources.
10. How long do they remain fresh?
For the best flavor and aroma, use the herbs by the best-by date printed on the pouch.
Once opened, keep the pouch tightly sealed and protect it from moisture. Discard the product if you notice mold, moisture, insects, an unusual smell or another sign of contamination—even if the best-by date has not passed.
11. Why can color and cut vary between batches?
Herbs are natural agricultural products, so their appearance may vary according to growing conditions, weather, harvest timing, drying methods and seasonal availability.
Small differences in color, cut size, aroma or the amount of leaf, flower and stem are normal and do not necessarily indicate a difference in quality.
12. Do you provide medical recommendations?
No. Kumbatia provides general educational information about botanical ingredients, traditional uses, preparation and safety.
We do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe treatments, recommend stopping medication or guarantee health results. Our information is not a substitute for advice from a physician, pharmacist or other qualified healthcare professional.
13. How quickly are orders processed?
Orders are generally prepared within 2–4 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Processing time does not include shipping-transit time.
Tracking information will be emailed after the order ships. Processing may take slightly longer during product launches, promotions or holidays.
